The Lehrstuhl für Schulpädagogik mit dem Schwerpunkt empirische Unterrichtsforschung is responsible for teaching in the field of school pedagogy for all teacher training programs at FAU (primary, middle, secondary school and grammar school).

Furthermore, the chair is responsible for the educational science modules “Qualitätsentwicklung in Bildungsinstitutionen” in the Master’s degree program Erziehungswissenschaftlich-Empirische Bildungsforschung.

The Chair’s research focuses on empirical teaching and learning research, teacher training and higher education research.

Special areas of research are

• Emotion, motivation and interest in the teaching-learning context
• Well-being and health at school and university
• Self-regulated learning in schools and universities
• Innovative and media-supported learning environments
• Formative methods of educational diagnostics
• Teacher competences in schools and universities
• Internships in teacher training
• Pedagogical-didactic intervention research
• Qualitative content analysis, video analysis and mixed methods

The chair is responsible for teaching in the field of school pedagogy in all teacher training programs at FAU:

• School pedagogy modules in the teacher training program (also with Bachelor of Education degree) primary school, middle school, secondary school and grammar school
• Internship supervision for primary and secondary school teachers
• Supervision of admission theses for all teaching specialisations
• Supervision of Master’s theses in the Master’s degree program Gymnasium (Master of Education)
• Study counselling for primary and secondary school teachers
• Educational science and school pedagogy modules in the Master’s degree program “Erziehungswissenschaftlich-Empirische Bildungsforschung” (Master of Education)
• Supervision of Master’s theses in all Master’s degree programs at FAU
